Celebrating Every Moment at Martins Creek Public School
At Martins Creek Public School, there’s always something special to celebrate! From exciting events and proud achievements to everyday successes, our vibrant community comes together to recognise and enjoy these moments.
Our students love participating in the Friday cooking program, where, whenever possible, we incorporate fresh produce from our vegetable and bush tucker gardens. This hands-on experience not only teaches valuable skills but also connects students to the land and local traditions. For special events, families and community members are warmly invited to join us, and the students proudly prepare the afternoon tea served on these occasions.
Every fortnight, we celebrate our students’ learning and Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) achievements with merit awards presented in front of the entire school community. These celebrations highlight the dedication and progress of our learners and foster a supportive and encouraging environment.
Our school actively engages in many local events, including the Dungog Show in Term 4, where students showcase their creativity through artworks, cooking entries, and even scarecrow competitions. We also participate in termly cultural days hosted by the Dungog District Community of Schools, as well as the NAIDOC celebration day at the local high school, enriching our students’ cultural awareness and community connections.
The opportunities at Martins Creek Public School are abundant and diverse. Here are just a few of our proud highlights.
A year at our school

Dungog Show
Each year we enter artworks, a scarecrow, cooking and our honey into the Dungog show. In 2024 we won the honey division and came second for our cumquat and rosemary jam. We also had a student win their age category for their art works. Bothe 2023 and 2024, our scarecrows came 1st and second. The students love attending the show as an excursion and seeing their work on display along with other schools in the Dungog area.

Open Day, Father's Day, Mother's Day
Each year we celebrate Mother's Day, Father's Day and Open day by inviting parents and community members to our school for a BBQ breakfast or lunch or an afternoon tea with cooking made by the students. Our school loves families and community members visiting and the students enjoy sharing their school life with everyone.

Book Week Celebrations
The whole school looks forward to book week. There is always so much effort that goes into consumes. It always creates a fun, engaging and exciting day, ending with family and community members attending for the parade.

Dungog District Community of Schools
